Frequently Asked Questions

  • The course that I am registering for has more than one part. Do I need to register for each day?

When you register for part one of a course, you are automatically enrolled in the other sessions as well (i.e. Compassion fatigue, GPA, Safer lifts and transfers, interRAI CHA).

  • Where do I go to register for a session?

Click on any course you would like to register for in our online calendar, and it will take you to Eventbrite, which is an online registration platform. If you are having trouble registering please email the RLC at info@regionallearningcentre.ca and someone will be happy to assist you.

  • Is there a cost for these sessions?

If you are a staff member of an eligible agency, there is no charge to attend sessions run by the Regional Learning Centre, with the exception of Mental Health First Aid Older Adults (virtual), CPI, and the Working Mind.

The RLC also partners with external organizations that charge a fee for their education. In some instances, this fee will be passed on to participants, and the fee is determined by the organization.

  • Can our organization set up a session just for our staff?

Yes! The RLC is happy to set up sessions for organizations at a custom time that meets your needs.

To set up a custom session, we require at least 6-8 participants.

There are many options for course delivery - sessions can be run online (via Zoom), in person at the RLC, or in person at your location.

Please reach out to us at info@regionallearningcentre.ca to learn more.

Cancellation Policy

Classes are subject to cancellation at least (5) business days prior to the scheduled course offering. If you are registered in a course that is cancelled, you will receive a notification from the Regional Learning Centre (RLC). Should you need to cancel your registration, this can be done through the Eventbrite account that you used to register. If you need assistance canceling your registration or have any questions please contact the RLC at info@regionallearningcentre.ca

Bad Weather Policy

In the event that bad weather (snow or ice storm) occurs on a day when an in-person training is booked, this training will be moved to a virtual format or rescheduled for a different day. If a session is being changed to a virtual format or moved to a different day, you will receive a phone call and/or an email before the scheduled session. Please monitor your email to ensure the session you are attending is not cancelled. We value the safety of our participants and our staff.

Late Policy

Participants are expected to sign in to virtual sessions 5 minutes before the start of the session. Staff attending in-person sessions should arrive on time.

To reduce interruptions during the session, no one will be admitted after 15 minutes past the start of the session (in-person or virtual). It is recommended that participants test their systems before the start of the session to ensure their technology will work.
