The Mississauga Halton Local Health Integration Network (LHIN) Regional Learning Centre was created in 2014 to strengthen the skills and abilities of direct care providers and informal caregivers through education, development and focused learning.
Many courses offered through the Mississauga Halton Regional Learning Centre are offered at no or low cost to eligible community organizations and are based on evidence informed practices.

Taryn Bolt is a registered Occupational Therapist who brings over a decade of educational and clinical experience in community healthcare to her current role.
She is passionate about providing evidence-informed education to staff working in the community sector and believes that workplace learning should always be relevant and engaging. Her clinical areas of expertise include pressure ulcer prevention, dementia care, and safer moving and handling practices.
Taryn’s educational background includes a Bachelor of English and Psychology and a Master of Science in Occupational Therapy from the University of Toronto. She has also completed the Geriatric Certificate from McMaster University.
Muzhda Iqbal brings a wealth of expertise in program coordination and marketing within the educational sector.
She is dedicated to creating meaningful educational opportunities and developing engaging resources for professionals in the community. Muzhda oversees public inquiries, session logistics, and marketing efforts, ensuring that each program runs smoothly and meets the needs of clients.
Muzhda's educational background includes a Bachelor of Arts in Economics from University of Toronto, further strengthening her strategic and analytical approach to program development.
Yalini Gunarajan is a Registered Nurse with experience in acute medicine, long-term care, community health care, and management.
Yalini is a Registered Nurse with experience working in both acute care settings and the community sector in Ontario and Manitoba, Canada. Most Recently, Yalini acted as a Nursing Supervisor and distinguished herself as a quality leader, directing nursing teams across all responsibilities to ensure an outstanding patient experience. Yalini provided coaching and education to her team of nurses and supported clients in the community and their families.
Yalini’s educational background includes a Bachelor of Science in Nursing at Laurentian University, in collaboration with Sault College.
As a seasoned nurse in both the hospital and community health settings, Michelle possesses a wealth of experience across the healthcare spectrum.
Michelle began her nursing career as a perioperative nurse at Sunnybrook where she was a member of the cardiovascular and trauma surgical teams. With a growing desire to shift her nursing focus to health education and disease prevention, Michelle spent a number of years in primary care nursing roles with the Hamilton and Credit Valley Family Health Teams.
In addition to her clinical duties, Michelle served as a member of a community health outreach team during her tenure with the Credit Valley Family Health Team during which time she played a leading role in the creation and coordination of in-person and virtual health education programming. When Michelle is not helping to educate others, she is busy fulfilling her role as an avid soccer mom and can be found on the field cheering on her son.
Lana is a seasoned Registered Nurse with experience across a variety of nursing settings including the hospital sector, geriatrics, and post-secondary education.
Lana began her nursing career at Hamilton Health Sciences in Acute Medicine. With a desire to further develop her nursing career, Lana completed her Masters of Nursing at the University of Toronto. She then spent time working in Psychiatry before settling into the Geriatric Emergency Management nurse role at Guelph General Hospital. For 11 years, Lana played a key role in supporting seniors and their families, educating staff, and advocating for senior friendly care.
In addition to her clinical experience, Lana has experience teaching within the Practical Nursing Program at Mohawk College and Conestoga College. Outside of work, Lana enjoys spending time with her three kids, crafting, baking, and powerlifting.
