What is the purpose of this IPAC risk self-assessment tool? There are a number of IPAC components that can affect the level of risk of a health event or outbreak within a congregate living organization.
This self-assessment tool (non-exhaustive and non-validated) is intended to assist in the identification of high-risk areas related to IPAC in order to improve/address them. It will support the prioritization of Infection Prevention and Control (IPAC) activities to reduce the burden of COVID-19 in congregate living organizations/settings.
Healthcare-associated infections are generally related to multiple factors; prevention of these infections depends on daily vigilance and implementation of evidence-based infection prevention and control (IPC) practices. These practices are outlined in written guidelines, policies, and procedures.
